It’s not always easy to motivate children to go for a walk, although it wouldn’t take much to convince them. You’ll now find this possible thanks to our two family walks which don’t take more than an hour and fifty minutes, with different themes and added bonuses like reading the informative panorama panels or visiting the marmots.
The Epines Blanches
Gradient : 270 m
Duration of walk: 1h50
The “Epines Blanches” (above La Tonnaz) is the first of our two itineraries. This circuit is more of a panoramic walk, with the Mont Blanc and the whole of the Val D’Arly lying before you.
It’s an opportunity to discover the numerous old farms which are dotted along the way before you enter the forested area. The bonus? The possibility of an excellent afternoon snack at the Violons Farm in the hamlet of La Tonnaz. The walk takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes (190m of climb). The main themes depicted on the educational panels are the scenery, the forest, the slate quarries, the farms and the history of Praz-sur-Arly.

The Evettes Lake

Dénivelé : 270 m
Durée de marche : 1h50
This itinerary will take you to the Evettes Lake – a very pleasant walk of about 1 hour and 50 minutes. Although it’s not possible to swim in this little forest lake, its shady and peaceful setting makes it a choice destination for a walk and a picnic. The educational themes of this circuit are pond life, mountain agriculture and tuf ( sedimentary rock) quarrying.
The itinerary also includes a marmot observation site, which is extremely rare at such an altitude and in an essentially forest environment. Children will love it!
