Comment : This is no doubt the most beautiful of the four we visited because it combines the beauty of the landscapes with unforgettable passages. The suspended bridge and the overhang are part of them. A lot of gradual crossing and climbing ensure that it is not too daunting and on the whole it is accessible to most climbers
Mont Charvin
(Héry-sur-Ugine, à 20 km de Praz)

Commentaire : ce n’est pas une via ferrata au sens le plus connu des adeptes. Voyons là plutôt un itinéraire alpin, souvent câblé, qui permet de faire un beau sommet.

La tour du Jallouvre
(Grand Bornand, à 39 km de Praz)
Altitude : de 1410 m à 2000 m
Durée : 3h de via, 1h15 de descente
Approche : 15 mn

Commentaire : la via ferrata a pour cadre le magnifique col de la Colombière. Autant dire que le paysage vaut à lui seul le détour. En revanche, la via n’est pas très ludique. Seul l’après passerelle donne vraiment un côté très aérien. Il y a aussi beaucoup de marche et cela rebutera peut être les amateurs de sensations fortes. Pour les autres, la beauté des montagnes environnante suffira à leur bonheur.
Thônes
Altitude: 900 m
Time : 3 hours
Approach : 5 mn
Difficulty : TD
Comment : Thônes deserves its TD (“Très difficile”) rating because the monkey bridge (le pont de singe) is impressive, but above all because the slope at the end is exceptionally long and hard. It can also be avoided. Very aerial climbing.
Ferrata du Mont
(Sixt Fer à Cheval, 55 km de Praz)
Altitude : 780 à 820 m
Durée : 3h (+ 20 mn de retour)
Approche : 15 mn

Commentaire : Une via qui intéressera sans aucun doute les pratiquants de niveau moyen. Pour les amateurs de sensations, en revanche, le parcours manquera un peu de piment.
Le Saix
(Avoriaz, à 70 km de Praz)
Altitude: 1700 m
Time : 2 hours & 30 mn
Approach : 5 mn
Difficulty : AD
Comment : Reserved for complete beginners because there is no real difficulty. A good climber would finish it in less than an hour and not be satisfied because the scenery isn't very exciting and the cliff is far from impressive

Time : 5 hours (+ 30 mn for the return)

Comment : This is without doubt our favourite. Very accessible, rarely technical, but incredibly beautiful. The scenery, with the Roselend Dam and the Beaufortain alpine pastures, is well worth the trip. Marmots and edelweiss abound, and there is also a tunnel at the end (don't forget to take a torch). In short, this via is a must!
