Never underestimate the level of an itinerary. Rely on the gradient information indicated and the walking time (calculate 300 m of climb/hour going up, 400 m going down, 4 km/h on flat ground) and allow for plenty of time.
Read the whole leaflet before making your choice. The difficult passages are indicated.
The weather can change quickly in the mountains. Consult the weather bulletin posted in the Tourist Office or call Chamonix Météo on 08 92 68 02 74 before setting off. Don’t hesitate to put off the walk if the weather becomes threatening. Take warm clothes in your bag and a waterproof raincoat.
Never go off alone into the mountains. Always inform someone of your planned itinerary and the time at which you think you will return.
We have indicated the best times of the year to do these walks. However, you should still take into account the possibility of a late snowfall in the spring or an early one in autumn.
The mountains are a constantly changing environment, which could also modify the information contained in the hiking leaflet. Out there, you are the sole judge of the state of the pathway and the itinerary as a whole. You should know when to give up if an unforeseen difficulty arises or if the itinerary does not seem to correspond to the description. Please inform the Tourist Office of any anomalies that you may find. Never leave the pathways.
Complete your hiking leaflet information with an IGN map of the area.
Please leave the mountains in a clean state. Bring down your rubbish!
