Main events this winter in Praz-sur-Arly 2009/2010
December
World Snowboard Day, 20.12.09: The opening event of the season! A discovery day and a gathering of snowboard enthusiasts as well as complete beginners.
“Children’s Christmas” from 20.12.09 to 26.12.09: A magical week of shows for children as well as adults. On the programme: numerous shows around the theme of Christmas, street entertainment (brass bands, jugglers, fairytales....) and – the highlight – a magnificent firework display on the theme of legends, which will delight young and old.
“New Year’s Eve Party”, 31.12.09: Bring in the New Year in style! There’ll be a DJ to liven up the evening in the heart of the village much to the delight of young and not so young revellers – an occasion to wish a Happy New Year to one and all!
January
The “XXth International Montgolfiades” on 09.01.10 and 10.01.10: The main event of the winter season in Praz-sur-Arly. 2010 is the twentieth anniversary year of this renowned international meeting.. There will be group flights and initiation flights, as well as numerous fun activities and surprises to make this 20th anniversary an unforgettable one!
“Espace Diamant Discovery Day”, 10.01.10: For one whole day, go off and discover the “Espace Diamant” ski area by participating in a ski rally in teams. There will be lots of fun activities throughout the day.
Febuary
“Praz Freestyle Days” on 13.02.10 and 14.02.10: A weekend devoted to Freestyle skiing. A chance to come and try out, or discover, lots of alternative options to downhill skiing, all accompanied by fun entertainment and a night-time show with a DJ at the foot of the slopes; this event will include the best “freestylers” in the region. A thrilling evening for all!
“Praz Carnival Week” from 16.02.10 to 21.02.10: Samba, brass bands and pranks are on the programme! Our resort will be swinging all week to the rhythm of percussion instruments and other street entertainment directly inspired by Brazilian carnivals. Please note that fancy dress is a must!
The Rossignol Demo Tour, on 22.02 and 23.02.10: An event not to be missed by ski enthusiasts! On the programme: free tests, entertainment and lots of gifts.
March
The “Montée de l’envers de Praz”, 20.03.10: A night-time ski mountaineering race bringing together the very best athletes in the field.
The “Smugglers’ Trail”, 28.03.10: The famous winter hiking event is back! On snowshoes or sealskin skis, with the family or friends, discover several levels of itineraries which are set up for you to spend an unforgettable day in the mountains..
The “DET’LEE » on 03.04.10 and 04.04.10: After several years’ absence, the famous French family celebration of the end of the ski season is back! On the programme: ski races, concerts and loads of good fun!
