Main events of Summer 2016
This summer there’ll be about ten big events! Sports, music, gastronomy, art, culture and heritage will all be on the programme at these different events. And there’ll be other big events like the Tour de France passing through the village. It’s going to be an amazing summer in Praz sur Arly!
Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 July: MB RACE
The MB RACE will pass through Praz-sur-Arly twice this summer.
Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 July: AT THE PEAK OF TASTE – TOP CHEF SPECIAL
Outdoor cooking demonstrations with top chefs. Explanation of recipes and tastings.
With two of the best candidates from the M6 TV show “Top Chef”.
From 8 to 17 July: OUTSIDER ART EXHIBITION
Praz-les-Arts will be exhibiting 8 outsider art artists. Free entry.
Saturday 16 July: PRAZ FESTIVAL
Dinner and show on the theme of 60s, 70s and 80s music, and dancing with the CHOUCAS Group
Varins Tent.
Sunday 17 July: PAYS DU MONT-BLANC BAROQUE FESTIVAL
“Les Sacqueboutes” concert at altitude. Free at the top of the Crêt du Midi chairlift at 14.30.
Sunday 24 July: MOUNTAIN FESTIVAL
Discovery of mountain sports, professions and gastronomy.
Saturday 30 July: FANARA’S CUP and SKI-CLUB PARTY
Pétanque competition organized by the Thomas Fanara Fan Club on the banks of the Arly River.
Dinner dance in the evening organized by the Ski Club.
Sunday 31 July: YOUNG TALENTS FESTIVAL
Discover the new young musical talents of today.
The Praz sur Arly Young Talents Festival will be welcoming EMJI, the winner of the 2015 New Star competition. Church Square. Free access.
EMJI has just released her first album, “Folies douces”, and her third single, “Lost”. She will be playing the role of Milady in the musical comedy “The 3 Musketeers” this coming autumn.
Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 August: THE PRATZ MEDIEVAL FESTIVAL
Return to the fantastic world of the Middle Ages with soldiers parading, demonstrations of fights and numerous stalls, shows, taverns and banquets. Medieval costumes, parades, shops and feasts!
Monday 15 August: JUMBLE SALE
Shopkeepers’ end-of-summer sale and the locals’ jumble sale in the centre of the village, closed for pedestrians only for the occasion.
Sunday 21 August: VINTAGE CAR GATHERING
Vintage car gathering and initiation rides for the benefit of the Sapaudia charity.
Sunday 28 August: MOUNTAIN PASTURES FESTIVAL
Discover life in the mountain pastures and meet our cattle farmers who produce milk and cheese at high altitude. Walks and wild-berry picking.
