3rd MOUNTAIN FESTIVAL,  SUNDAY 28 JUNE

PicMonkey Collage

Every year since 2013,  professionals who work in mountain and tourism activities get together to highlight the wealth of our mountains, be they cultural, sporting or gastronomic. Many of the activities on this day are dedicated to the discovery of the mountains in all its forms.
Rendez-vous at lunchtime in the Belles Leisure Park for a friendly picnic at the Barabelles Snack Bar. In the afternoon, discover the themed  trails: accompanied by guides, go hiking and discover the area surrounding Praz sur Arly. In a short time, you can enjoy exceptional views and even see unexpected flora and fauna! Cani-rando: walking, but pulled by a dog that normally pulls a sled in winter! In summer, thanks to a harness that is tied to your waist, the dog adjusts to your pace. It’s a sport that’s accessible to the whole family! Nordic walking: walking with special poles, discover the pleasure of hiking in the mountains by making your whole body work without effort! Other activities at the Belles Leisure Park: archery, climbing wall, playgrounds…

PASSAGE OF THE MB RACE THROUGH PRAZ SUR ARLY, SUNDAY 5 JULY

MB Race

The 5th MB BIKE CULTURE RACE comprises several mountain bike races (ultra/classic, endurance) and the star event is the 140 km ultra-marathon (7,000 metres of altitude difference) – “the most difficult race in the world”. For those who aspire to crossing the finish line, they will have to climb up to the summits of Praz sur Arly before attacking the Lanciers descent to get to the official refreshment and support station in the church square. The ascent of the Plan de l’Aar then completes the list of the main difficulties of this race. Come and cheer on the competitors!

MOUNTAIN, NATURE AND WELL-BEING FESTIVAL from SATURDAY 3 to FRIDAY 7 AUGUST

FMNBE

The mountains are a rich summer holiday destination still largely unknown to the general public. Those that have been are often won over and return! To find yourself in the heart of a still-preserved environment and take care of your body, what a perfect combination to enjoy without moderation!

For one week, the Tourist Office will make every effort for you to discover the wealth of our region combined with your well-being, with lots of activities concentrated in a few days.

Discover the mountains with outdoor nature activities such as botanical trails, themed walks, sporting activities and relaxation, but also through workshops: creation of cosmetic products based on natural products, children’s show with a nature theme, reflexology, fortune-telling, yoga… Praz is still an authentic village with wooden chalets and old Alpine farms dot the landscape! Our primary aim is to develop and educate the public about the mountains and nature and well-being tourism. We live in a unique place, still preserved, and that’s the way we want to keep it!

THE PRATZ MEDIEVAL FESTIVAL, SATURDAY 8 and SUNDAY 9 AUGUST

Mediévales

The village is not a medieval city, there are no castles here, just the desire of a few volunteers with lots of initiative to create a festival. For one weekend, Praz sur Arly transforms itself into a real medieval village! Damsels, knights and beggars strut their stuff in the streets as they did in the time of dragons! Throughout the village, scenes of daily life at the time are recreated such as the bread oven and food stalls. Discover the different shows where the public loudly applauded the troubadours! 200 performers, 40 shows including an equestrian show, 30 stalls, refreshments, etc. Possibility to rent costumes. Free access except for some shows.

END-OF-SEASON JUMBLE SALE AND FESTIVAL, SATURDAY 15 AUGUST

End-of-season jumble sale in a fun atmosphere in the centre of the village, exceptionally closed to traffic. Fireworks and dancing in the evening with Animation Sonic in the church square!
