Ski and road conditions

The ski area as at 17.03.2024

In view of the snow conditions, particularly below 1,500 metres, and the weather forecasts, the Praz-sur-Arly ski area will close on the evening of Sunday 24 March.

The “Mont Rond 1350” sector at Notre Dame de Bellecombe still offers good skiing conditions, as do the peaks of the Espace Diamant. We are continuing our efforts to maintain the quality of the Val d’Arly ski area.

Flumet, ski area closed.

There is no longer a shuttle service between Flumet Les Evettes and Praz-sur-Arly.

At Notre Dame de  Bellecombe, the Boulangère sector is closed.

In Praz sur Arly, all the lower slopes are closed (the Babys, Rosière, Bernards), the Crêt du Midi chairlift is open.

RETURN TO THE FOOT OF THE SLOPES IS VIA THE CRÊT DU MIDI CHAIRLIFT

The Val d’Arly Smugglers’ Trail, Sunday 17 March 2024 – Cancelled due to uncertain weather conditions

The 2024 edition of the Smuggler’s trail is cancelled due to uncertain weather conditions next weekend!

21st SMUGGLERS’ TRAIL, SUNDAY 17 MARCH 2024

Breathtaking scenery, circuits for all levels, and lots of fun – these are the ingredients for the success of this discovery trail. Since 2003, this wonderful discovery walk has been a growing success with the public. The formula is simple: participants take the chairlift up to the summit of the Ban Rouge, where the walk begins, quickly and effortlessly.

There are 3 marked circuits. All along the way, participants will meet smugglers and customs officers who will be watching over them in period costume and with their old-fashioned skis. Some will no doubt try to smuggle in a few regional products: if truth were told, the customs officers are usually not very zealous.

In short, it’s a really fun hike! It’s a chance to meet the locals and enjoy some magical scenery. Finally, a picnic awaits everyone at the finish in Chevan. It’s a simple, non-competitive formula that seems to delight the walkers, who turn up in large numbers every year. A great way to end the winter!

3 DIFFERENT LEVELS OF TRAIL DEPENDING ON YOUR LEVEL

LITTLE SMUGGLERS’ CIRCUIT:  Very easy – About an hour-and-a-half, 2,6 km, walk with 300 metres of negative altitude difference. For occasional walkers and children. Course: https://tracedetrail.fr/fr/trace/trace/175022

> THE MONT DE VORES CIRCUIT:  For regular hikers. About 3 hours’ walk of 7 km (200m of positive and 500m of negative altitude difference). Course: https://tracedetrail.fr/fr/trace/trace/175021

> THE GRAND VERY CIRCUIT:   The longest one for experienced hikers. About 4 hours’ walk of 8 km (300m of positive altitude difference). Course: https://tracedetrail.fr/fr/trace/trace/175018

N.B. :  After the picnic you will still have to walk 200m of positive altitude difference (3/4 of an hour) to get back to the chairlift.
