“PETITS ASTICOTS” FESTIVAL – “Ce matin-LÀ” Show – Friday 27 October in Praz sur Arly

Hoist the sails…

The “Petits Asticots” are thinking big again this year, from 21 to 27 October! Theatre, circus, music, puppetry… We’re giving children and the whole family a real window on the world and the performing arts, with shows and artists from all over the world.

We’ll be riding the ocean waves aboard the Pen Duick, landing on the ice floes in the land of the Inuits and polar bears, and returning to the mountains not far from here with musical tales from the Alps… While the show is about travel and the great outdoors, the artists also tackle themes from a child’s point of view: relationships, speaking out, home and hearth (after the trip!). All, of course, with great tenderness, sensitivity and humour.

“Ce matin-LÀ” Show – FRIDAY 27 OCTOBER 2023 AT 9.30, 11.00 AND 16.00

Chouette il pleut! Company
Clown

“Ce matin-LÀ” is a journey of self-discovery and discovery. A joyful mix of curiosity, surprise and courage set against a backdrop of paper, paint and Vivaldi. When our little character wakes up that morning, it’s not going to be his usual routine, where everything is clean, smooth and tidy… No, this morning it’s a series of disasters where everything gets creased, torn and stained. At first, this shattered routine seems worrying, but as he overcomes his fears, he opens up to the world and discovers an explosion of possibilities! A fabulous journey, full of stains, colours, folds, noises, creases and music.

Age: From 1 year
Duration:  35 mins
Cost: 5 €

This summer discover a fun new Hiking trail and a new comic book “La Thonnaz ne sonne plus!”

A fun new hiking trail!

Following on from the success of the Smugglers’ Trail, the commune of Praz-sur-Arly is opening a fun new hiking trail on 1 July, this time on the south-facing slope in the direction of the Plan de l’Aar refuge. It includes a treasure hunt with clues in a new comic book set during the French Revolution.

In order to diversify the tourist offer and promote the region’s cultural and architectural heritage, the “Communauté de communes Pays du Mont-Blanc” (CCPMB) and the communes of Combloux, Contamines, Cordon, Passy, Praz-sur-Arly and Saint-Gervais have created “The little baroque circuits”: six fun and immersive routes to discover the wealth of this heritage.

The one in Praz-sur-Arly, entitled “La Thonnaz ne sonne plus!”, is based on the world of the Adventures of Quentin and Louis, and – more specifically – on the third comic book in the series which will be published at the end of June.

The comic book evokes the period of the French Revolution and the destruction of the Tonnaz and Bonne Fontaine chapels. Myriam Bouima is the artist and Yann Jaccaz, the Mayor of Praz sur Arly, is the scriptwriter. They will present the comic book on 30 June at 17.30 in the Praz Library (see our article for more information).

Your equipment

To venture out on this new trail, solve the riddles along the way and find the hidden treasure, you’ll need water, a snack, good walking shoes… but also the comic book and its game kit, sold at the Praz Tourist Office for 6€.

You can also eat and sleep at the  Refuge du Plan de l’Aar if you want to extend your mountain experience and enjoy the great outdoors.

Bonus: if you manage to collect all the clues, you’ll get a gift… which can be combined with gifts from other towns to create a board game!

 Access / Parking

Leave the car in Praz, TAKE THE NEW SUMMER SHUTTLE BUS FREE!

To avoid parking problems in the hamlet of La Tonnaz, which has a car park with only 10 spaces, the Town Hall has decided to introduce a free shuttle bus service during the summer school holidays, which will make the following stops every 20 minutes: Parking des Varins – Belles – Village – Tonnaz. Anyone interested can use the Pysae mobile application to locate the shuttle in real time.

New swimming lake (free access)

Discover a fabulous new swimming pool in Praz sur Arly, facing the Mont Charvin… an exceptional site for a refreshing summer break! A swimming lake supervised by lifeguards with free access for all, isn’t that just heaven? A lake created with two different swimming areas to satisfy all your desires!

ZONE 1: A supervised public swimming area with a surface area larger than an Olympic-size swimming pool! Graduated depths from 0.30cm to 2.50m to satisfy both young and older swimmers… fantastic!
ZONE 2: AND IN ADDITION! An area reserved for water sports activities, where you can enjoy our giant Aquaparc and paddles for hire. A large public beach beside the swimming area, ideal for sunbathing between swims! Life is great at Praz Lac Aventures!

Access to the swimming lake: The main access to the swimming lake is from the Belles Leisure Park via a footbridge over the Arly River.

Thanks to a footpath created right around the lake, accessible to people with reduced mobility from Les Belles or the Cassioz road, users will be able to reach the beach and the reception building in which sanitary facilities, a lifeguard’s room, a storage room, a snack bar and a reception office are planned. They will also be able to reach the Accrobranch tree climbing course on the banks of the Arly.

New: A shuttle service (free) will also give you easy access to the swimming lake : timetable

Aquapark

Come and discover our giant water playground for up to 60 people! The aquapark for big and small is a series of different inflatable modules:

AIRBAGS, PLATFORMS, UNSTABLE LOGS, SLIDES, TRAMPOLINE, etc.

This sports course allows you to challenge your family and friends in a fun way. If you fall into the water, handles located all along the course allow you to get back up easily. A qualified supervisor is present on the course for the safety of all. Located a few meters from the shore, access to the aquapark is by swimming. It is therefore essential (especially for the youngest) to be at ease in the water and to know how to swim. The obligatory life jackets will be provided by the aquapark team.

Opening 2023: from 8 July to 3 September, 11.00-18.00, daily – from 3 September to 17 September 2023, 11.00-18.00, Wednesdays and weekends.
Cost: 11€ per hour.
Conditions: from 5 years and knowing how to swim / children under 10 years must be accompanied by a responsible adult / no reservation required / life jacket obligatory for all.

Accrobranch Park

We have 4 circuits to suit everyone, with a continuous lifeline system for added safety. What is a continuous lifeline system? For you, it means peace of mind: no carabiners to manipulate throughout the route. All you have to do is slide the pulley from one end of the circuit to the other and, above all, think about… having fun!

Our 3 courses give you access to 4 circuits in total, each made up of 12 to 15 workshops, for a good dose of fun for all the family! The level of difficulty is established in the same way as for the ski runs: Green, Blue, Red and Red +.

KIDS’ COURSE (FROM 4 TO 7 YEARS*)

This is the Green level course for the very youngest, giving them their first taste of heights on a suspended circuit of between 1 and 2 metres, with some great memories in store!
* accompanied by their parents.

ADVENTURE COURSE (FROM 7 YEARS)

This is a course just like our ski runs, with levels of difficulty ranging from Blue to Red. The difficulty increases as you go along, preparing you for the Red+ course, the toughest! Just a little more effort and you’re almost there!

XTREM COURSE  (PRE-TEENS, TEENS AND ADULTS)

Designed for pre-teens, teens and adults, this course is rated Red+ for maximum thrills! As well as the many workshops on offer along the way, you can try your hand at the 3 zip-lines crossing the Arly and running alongside the lake… an ideal way to see the panorama from a different angle over more than 125 metres! Go for it!

Opening: Saturday 24 June 2023

RATES:

KIDS’ COURSE: 10 € (Course level Green).
ADVENTURE COURSE: 15 € (Course level Blue to Red).
XTREM COURSE: 20 € (Course level Blue to Red +).
